Mountbatten- Wed 20th June

Last night saw Mike and Myself racing at Mountbatten in the E/1/2 event on a very rare evening of warmth and even a bit of sunshine.  The race was fast from the start with lots of hard attacks. I managed to get in most breaks whilst Mike did a great job of driving the bunch when we had no-one up the road.
It took a long time for anything to stick and in the end it was more of a split in the field rather than a break as around 15 riders, including myself, eventually gained a lap not long before the finish. In the final it was tight and I found myself fighting for position with more than one rider at a time. Despite being in a box of riders on the final lap I managed to squeeze my way through to open up my sprint and  finish 3rd just behind Jon Dibben and Justin Hoy who took the win on the night.
It is good to be consistently finishing well however I am pushing hard to gain more wins for the team and feel that I am only getting stronger and smarter as the season moves on!

Ride safe
