Monday Night Misson!

Monday night saw myself and Ollie ride up to Ludgershall where we met Mike for our first race of the summer series despite it being 3 weeks in. Not really knowing the way there we set off with plenty of time and despite hopping off the bikes at one point to pass through a Jubilee celebration street party we did arrive safely and in plenty of time for the race.
Ollie got himself into an early move that looked like it might be successful on the tight circuit however despite our best efforts, Mike and I couldn't hold the bunch back and the gap was closed. There were many digs that didn't stay away of which we had a rider in nearly all, until Tim Elverson (Pedal Heaven) took away a group and we missed it. That group split leaving three riders up the road to contest the win, Ollie put in a big solo effort but with tired legs was reeled in by the group. In the later stages I managed to sneak up the road with one other rider where we stayed for many laps before a group of 4 or 5 riders including Mike bridged the gap to us with just one lap to go. My legs were tired and I took a poor line into the final corner to finish 8th with Mike just behind in 9th. After his big solo dig Ollie rolled in with the remainder of the group.
It was then for our ride home- Ollie having not eaten much had a few issues with energy which was all good fun, and it was dark by the time we got back to the shop to pack up the bikes and head for a good nights sleep with another 130km in the legs!

I will do my best to find some photos and results will follow soon!
